Bone Reduction Guide Package With Scan Bar

Bone Reduction Guide Package (BRG) with Scan Bar is a precise, patient-specific solution for complex full arch cases. Featuring strong dove-tail joints and a low-profile design, the BRG streamlines bone alveoloplasty, implant placement, and provisional delivery. The patient-specific integrated photogrammetry Scan Bar enables a predictable and efficient workflow to capture a digital full arch impression and design an immediate screw retained provisional using an intra oral scanner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ScanBar?

The Scan Bar is a patient-specific 3D printed appliance designed to work in conjunction with the Implant Concierge Bone Reduction Guided (BRG) package for full-arch scenarios. Itempowers an intra-oral scanner to provide a digital impression that is used to design a screw-retained provisional restoration the day of the surgery without using expensivephotogrammetry technology.

Powered by RealGUIDE Software and Implant Concierge, Zimvie’s Scan Bar is used with guided surgery protocols to produce an aesthetic and accurate provisional prosthesis on the day of surgery.

The Scan Bar protocol is a fantastic solution for clinicians who are looking for a fully digital, fully guided workflow to provide an immediate screw-retained restoration.

Scan Bar does not require intra- or extra-oral expensive photogrammetry capital equipment and scan bodies.

Scan Bar provides clinicians with a direct to MUA screw-retained, provisional prosthesis the day of surgery. Scan Bar eliminates the need for temporary cylinders.

Scan Bar workflow allows a clinician to eliminate the time-consuming process of converting a denture.

The Scan Bar workflow provides clinicians with a direct to MUA screw retained, provisional prosthesis the day of surgery. Scan Bar workflow eliminates the need of Temporary Cylinders and does not require expensive photogrammetry capital equipment and special scan bodies.

  • Scan Bar workflows provide an immediate screw-retained provisional prosthesis.
  • No need to remove photogrammetry scan bodies and place conventional scan
    bodies
  • No need to inventory two sets of scan bodies
  • No need to have a second set of equipment in the operatory
  • No need for Temporary Cylinders

The Scan Bar workflow works with both TSV® and Certain implant systems. TSV implant systems use Universal Multi Unit Abutments and Azure Scan Bodies. The Certain implant system uses the Low-Profile Abutments and the GenTek™ Scan Bodies.

Scan Bar is an add-on to the Bone Reduction Guide package from Implant Concierge.

Using the Implant Concierge dynamic ordering page, under the Provisional category, select Screw Retained Bridge and Scan Bar. The workflow will automatically be added to your case. Implant Concierge portal will allow you to customize your order from the wax-up to the immediate screw-retained bridge. You decide who creates the wax-up, you decide who prints the surgical guides and you decide who prints the provisional.

To create a Scan Bar case, Implant Concierge does not need any additional diagnostic data in addition to the standard data requested for Terminally Dentate and Fully Edentulous scenarios.

When using ScanBar, you will need the Azure UMUA Scan Bodies (TSV implant system) or the GenTek Low-Profile Scan Bodies (Certain implant system), an intra-oral digital scanner and the Azure Long Prosthetic screw.

ScanBar can only be used for ZimVie implant systems (TSV & Certain) and can only be used in conjunction with the Implant Concierge Bone Reduction Guided package.

Refer to the Bone Reduction Guide Package with ScanBar Immediate Screw-Retained prosthesis technical video to learn how to use ScanBar in conjunction with the Bone Reduction surgical guide.

Scan Bar and Universal Multi-Unit Abutment scan bodies are used together with an intraoral scanner to scan the patient for an immediate screw-retained provisional restoration the day of implant surgery. The IOS scans are sent to Implant Concierge for design and can be printed by Implant Concierge or printed locally at a lab or clinician’s office.

  1. After the implants and Universal Multi-Unit Abutments (UMUA) are delivered using the Implant Concierge Multi-Purpose Guide, hand-tighten the Azure/GenTek scan bodies onto the UMUA
  2. Position the Scan Bar male dovetail connection into the female bone reduction guide receptor and secure with blue pin
  3. Using your IO digital scanner, capture the ScanBar and all scan bodies
  4. Remove the Scan Bar and the Bone Reduction Guide but do NOT remove the Scan Bodies
  5. Suture tissue and obtain primary closure
  6. Using your IO digital scanner, capture the Scan Bodies and the soft tissue
  7. Select the appropriate red action buttons on the Implant Concierge portal, “Upload Scan Bar STL” and “Upload Tissue + Scan Bodies STL files” and follow the instruction to upload the respective STL files

The ScanBar can only be used when the Bone Reduction Guide is secured to the patient’s buccal bone.  Once the ScanBar has been captured using the IO digital scanner, it can be discarded.

No. do not autoclave the ScanBar.

If you do not own a photogrammetry system, and you would like a screw-retained immediate restoration, then ScanBar is required.  Implant Concierge can design an immediate screw-retained prosthesis using commercially available intra-oral or extra-oral photogrammetry system.   Implant Concierge is able to provide a guided Surgery-Ready passive fit bridge that can be used in conjunction with the Bone Reduction Guide package, UMUA’s and temporary cylinders.

Implant Concierge ScanBar is printed using commercial grade Stratasys printers using a FDA approved resin called Med620.

Yes, Implant Concierge can provide three options for your guided cases:

  1. Surgery-Ready Passive Fit Bridge is a guided prosthetic that is adhered to temporary cylinders chair-side
  2. Screw-Retained Bridge can be designed using any commercially available intra- or extra-oral photogrammetry
  3. Surgical Immediate denture that can be converted chair-side or used as a healing denture
